Job Description

Position Description:
As the Biomedical Writer for the MDA this individual will support our clinical/medical education content team to use your scientific knowledge to effectively and clearly communicate education information in writing across multiple platforms including digital, live event and print to support educational initiative to inform and educate clinicians/healthcare providers about the current and evolving future treatment landscape in neuromuscular diseases. Biomedical writers require an understanding of the medical concepts and terminology, how to analyze and distill information into a clear educational narrative, and good writing skills. They also need to be familiar with searching medical literature, understanding and presenting research data, and editing and publishing requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with medical education content team and the larger the full Healthcare Partnership/Healthcare Communications team to implement MDA’s educational programs
• Collaborate and communicate with external subject matter experts and clinical thought leaders to develop program content
• Keep up to date on current literature, emerging science, technological developments and medical trends in neuromuscular disease
• Create accurate and effective needs assessments and program content based upon current literature reviews, project data analyses, and expert opinion
• Travel to relevant conferences for the execution of educational programs as well as program coverage and information assessment
• Assist other departments within the MDA to ensure consistency and accuracy of educational content across the organization

Qualifications:
• PharmD, MD or PhD in biochemistry, neuroscience or other related field
• Familiarity of the medical education field
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ect
• Ability to interpret and present clinical data and other complex information
• Available writing samples
