Job Description

Position Description:
The system administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. The system administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers managed meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget. To meet these needs, a system administrator may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; or offer technical support for projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Windows Active Directory and Exchange including group policies, user management, and access controls.
  • Administer Office 365 installation including mailbox, O365 Sync, SharePoint, spam management, distribution lists.
  • Day-to-day management of all on-site and remote servers.  Assure patching and daily backups are completed.  Perform maintenance as needed.
  • Configure and manage Apple MacBooks on domain.
  • Managing and maintaining software deployment across all MDA offices.
  • Take control of the relationship with 3rd party vendors including Microsoft, Druva, and the Data Center provider.
  • Handle daily trouble tickets on networking, mail, AD, and connectivity issues.  Handle Tier-3 help desk issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2008 – 2016, OSX, Windows 7 & 10, WDS, Powershell.  Familiarity with Druva, Adaxes, Sophos, Beachhead, Meraki.
  • Work closely with Network Engineer and other IT staff on security and network maintenance and upgrades.  Maintain system monitoring toolset.
  • Participate in quarter access control meetings, monthly status reviews and as part of the project team as requested for IT related project.

        Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of previous system administration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field preferred.
  • Can take direction and correction but does not need a lot of day-to-day oversight.
  • Experience working in a structured fashion making deadlines and managing their time.
  • Candidate needs to be very knowledgeable and professional.
